Are you a consumer facing forclosure or in financial distress?

  • Contact the servicer on your current mortgage - there are modification programs available to assist you. If you don't know who your servicer is, most often you can find the specific contact using a free search compliments of Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS) at  https://www.mers-servicerid.org/sis/
  • You may be eligible to modify your current mortgage if it is owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.  You can verify this by either asking your current servicer or checking online:
  • HOPE NOW counceling service. Many servicers will require you to obtain foreclosure counseling - HOPE NOW is the nationally recognized counceling service that is free. Contact them by phone (888-995-HOPE) or online at http://www.hopenow.com/
