The conference gets off to a spectacular start with a 8:30 A.M. shotgun at the historic Newport Country Club. Originally established in 1894 Newport Country Club is often considered the first golf course in North America.  It has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 Clubs in America – Golf Digest has rated this links style gem as the 2nd best links-style courses in North America.  Golf Week chose Newport Country Club as “America’s 100 best classed courses”.  Both the U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur were held there in 1895 and the U.S. Women’s Open and 2006.  Come a little early and enjoy a continental breakfast.  Awards will be awarded during a hors d’oeuvres reception.

Join Genworth's Steve Richman in a session discussing how to become comfortable delivering bad news and turning it into a positive relationship with the customer. FHLB Training (1:15 PM -2:30 PM)
Join representatives from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston to hear updates of the Bank’s Mortgage Partnership Finance® (MPF) Program and Equity Builder Program. This session will focus on the Bank’s residential mortgage product offerings and how members can leverage the Bank’s Equity Builder Program to increase business development and home ownership opportunities for low to moderate-income homebuyers. All are welcome to learn about FHLBank Boston’s programs.

The Great Masquerade Party of NEMBC 2018 (6:30 PM -9:00 PM)

This is NEMBC's premier conference event at one of Newport's most elegant settings. Masquerade attire is suggested but you may come as you are (business attire). Enter the Rosecliff mansion, be greeted with a flute of champagne, walk along the ocean, listen to a band and catch up with fellow industry professionals. Networking at its very best! -plan on staying the night!

Running (or Walking) with Lou (6:45 AM -8:00 AM)

Start your conference by taking care of yourself!  Join Lou Chinappi of Arch MI for a morning run or walk through the streets of Newport.   Complete a 5K run, or a 2 mile walk, and finish at Starbucks on Thames for water and coffee, before starting your day at the conference.  Meet for some stretching at 6:45 AM outside the front door of Gurney’s. All levels of fitness are welcome and encouraged to attend, maps will be provided. 

NEMBC Opening Session (9:00 AM -10:20 AM)
Our keynote speaker for the Opening Session is David Motley, Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association and President of Colonial Savings, F.A. David will  provide us with an industry update from a national perspective from a view from Washington, D.C. and the MBA's initiatives. Following his keynote address, David Motley will moderate a panel of experts to discuss issues and opportunities to expand lending opportunities and staffing tor more diversity in our industry. Education, products, strategies, fairhousing, language barriers, advertising and recruiting are all topics for conversation that you won't want to miss!
The Digital Transformation and eClosings (10:30 AM-11:30 AM)

In addition, he will discuss developments in the housing markets including supply constraints on the availability of homes for sale and how they are creating challenges for housing affordability
